About and Services

I am a highly skilled and experienced lithics analyst, based in Warwickshire, with over ten years of dedicated service in the commercial arena. I have analysed some of Britain’s largest lithic scatters including the 250,000 piece assemblage from Bexhill. My expertise allows me to provide a diverse range of specialized services tailored to meet the needs of clients across various sectors, including commercial, academic, and public domains. Some of these services encompass thorough analyses, consultations, and comprehensive reports that address unique requirements and enhance the archaeological potential of excavations and assemblages.

Services include:

Lithic Analysis – I engage in all lithic types from the upper Paleolithic to Bronze Age both from Britain and abroad. No assemblage is too big or too small.

Report Writing and Desk-Based Assessments – I conduct the writing of lithic reports at all levels from post-excavation assessment through to analysis and publication. DBAs can be produced on request.

Consultation and Advice – I provide advice on the excavation of lithic scatters and the identification of lithic bearing horizons in the field. I have worked with commercial units, local authorities, government bodies and environmental services in this regard.

Workshops – I conduct workshops on lithic identification, excavation and recording methodology, and general prehistory. In the past I have worked with both commercial bodies, museums and local archaeological societies to bring lithics closer to the public.

An exhibition I organised for the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford. Here, I am engaged with members of the public about all things lithics.
